Holiday Chocolate Cracker Toffee Recipe

It’s the holiday season, which to me, translates to the cookie season! While this is technically not a cookie recipe, that never stops me from sneaking into every cookie exchange I’m invited to… and it never stops my friends at the cookie exchange from asking for the recipe. All you need for this recipe is saltine crackers, butter, brown sugar, chocolate chips, and seasonal sprinkles! Okay, the sprinkles are optional, but it would be a crime to not toss a handful of them onto this festive treat. After all, what gets you more into the Christmas spirit than festive sprinkles and yummy treats?! This easy-to-make dessert is a little salty, sweet, and wholly festive! I feel like an elf every time I make a big batch of this Christmas crack to hand out to friends, neighbors, teachers, and everyone else who needs a little holiday cheer. This may be a treat you’ve had before, but you’ve never had it this deliciously – or simply! Trademark Note: In the spirit of transparency, I want to note that Saltines are a trademarked product. Nabisco is a proprietary brand that I want to acknowledge and give credit to.

How to Make Christmas Cracker Toffee

Prepare the kitchen by preheating the oven and spraying down a baking sheet. Line the saltine crackers on the baking sheet. Heat butter and sugar in a pot. Melt the butter, then bring the mixture to a boil. Stir until the mixture begins to thicken. Pour the hot mixture over the crackers. Spread the mixture around with a knife. Bake. Sprinkle chocolate chips it while it’s still warm. Bake again for just a few moments. Spread the melted chocolate around with a knife. Freeze. Break into pieces, and enjoy!
