Ingredients: 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon pinch of nutmeg pinch of black pepper 3 tablespoons butter, at room temperature 3 tablespoons sugar 2 large eggs, beaten well 1 cup milk, divided 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 8 (6-inch) slices French toast bread, cut into 1-inch pieces Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, salt and baking powder. Add cinnamon and nutmeg; set aside. In the same bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time; mix well after each addition. Stir in milk and vanilla extract. Pour batter into prepared dish; sprinkle with bread pieces. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.

Allow the French toast to thaw in the refrigerator overnight before cooking or reheating in a 400°F oven for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
