Ingredients: 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature 1 cup granulated sugar 2 large eggs, beaten 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder Pinch of salt 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. In another medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt; add to butter mixture alternately with chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared cake pan; bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
