Ingredients: 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature 1 cup granulated sugar 2 large eggs, beaten 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder Pinch of salt 8 ounces semisweet chocolate chips, melted and cooled slightly (optional) Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. In another medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients; mix until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips if desired. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheet; bake for 12 minutes or until cookies are golden brown and set around the edges. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool completely.
